International Coordinator, IDAHO Committee
Joel Bedos currently serves as the International Coordinator of the IDAHO Committee, the body that oversees the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia held annually on May 17th. He started working for IDAHO in 2009 where he brought together his two passions, LGBT Advocacy and his 15 years of experience in strategic development. Just prior to joining the IDAHO Committee, he served as the Director of Oxfam-France's advocacy and campaigns department where he focused on the policy side of development issues. While there he was also acttive in the French LGBT advocacy movements since the early 1990's. He began his career in relief and emergency respons programs around the world, spending 10 years mainly in the Balkans and the Caucasus. Then he moved towards development aid and specialized in primary education, working on strategic development programs in Rwanda, Tanzania, Madagascar and Haiti.
